Installation

Anon Wallet is distributed as a browser extension for Chromium-based browsers.

For mobile, use the mobile installation guide: Google Play or a verified direct APK on Android, and TestFlight on iOS. Direct files appear only when available in the release history. Keep an existing wallet installed when updating.

The optional Network Guard companion links a supported local VPN app to the extension; it is not the desktop wallet.

System Requirements

  • Browser: Chrome, Brave, Edge, or any Chromium-based browser (v100+)
  • OS: Windows 10+, macOS 11+, or Linux
  • Passkeys (optional): Requires a compatible authenticator — Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello, or a FIDO2 hardware key

Install from the Chrome Web Store

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store listing for Anon Wallet
  2. Click Add to Chrome
  3. Confirm the permissions prompt — Anon requests only the permissions it needs to function
  4. The Anon icon will appear in your browser toolbar

Pin the Extension

Chrome may hide the extension behind the puzzle-piece icon. Click the puzzle icon in the toolbar and pin Anon so it's always visible.

First Launch

When you open Anon for the first time you'll be guided through account creation:

  1. Choose authentication — passkey (recommended) or password
  2. Create your account — Anon generates a BIP-39 mnemonic and encrypts it on your device
  3. Back up your mnemonic — write it down and store it somewhere safe; this is the only way to recover your wallet
  4. Fund your account — copy your public Ethereum address and send some ETH

After setup, you'll land on the Anon home screen where you can see your balances, shield funds, and connect to DApps.

Updating

Anon updates automatically via the Chrome Web Store. You can check your current version at Settings → About.
