.anon.buzz Usernames

.anon.buzz usernames give you a human-readable identity for the Anon ecosystem. Instead of sharing 0x1234...abcd, you can share alice.anon.buzz.

What a Username Does

A .anon.buzz username is a profile that can link to:

  • Your public Ethereum address — for receiving standard on-chain transfers
  • Your Railgun private address — for receiving private shielded transfers
  • Your stealth address — for one-time private receives
  • Social links — Twitter, GitHub, personal website, etc.

When someone sends you tokens in Anon, they can type alice.anon.buzz in the recipient field and Anon resolves the correct address type automatically (private or public, depending on the send mode).

Claiming a Username

  1. During account setup, open the username step
  2. Choose the public username option
  3. Enter your desired name (lowercase letters and digits, 4–63 characters)
  4. Anon checks availability on the .anon.buzz registry
  5. If available, tap Claim Username to reserve it, then continue authentication and profile creation

Name reservation and completed profile creation are separate steps. A reservation alone is not a completed public profile.

Setting Up Your Profile

After claiming, you can add:

  • Display name — a friendly name shown on your profile
  • Avatar — an image URL or ENS avatar
  • Bio — a short description
  • Social links — Twitter, GitHub, Farcaster, Lens, website URL
  • Private address — your Railgun address for private receives
  • Stealth parameters — enable stealth address generation for senders

QR Codes

Your profile page in Anon generates a QR code that encodes your username and preferred receive address. Share this QR code in person, on social media, or in your messaging app. When someone scans it with Anon, the send flow is pre-filled with your address.

ENS Compatibility

If you already have an ENS name (e.g., alice.eth), Anon resolves it for public sends. .anon.buzz adds a private-receive layer on top of ENS — ENS alone doesn't have a concept of a Railgun address.

Privacy Considerations

A public .anon.buzz profile can connect the username, addresses, and social information you publish. Review those associations before sharing. A fresh address alone does not make a public profile anonymous.
